This set from DEF Model in 1:35 scale contains a precisely turned metal 3-inch (76.2 mm) main gun barrel for the American M10 tank destroyer together with a resin gun mantlet. The metal barrel replaces the plastic part of the base kit and brings a perfectly straight barrel with a faithful muzzle and a cleanly made mantlet. It is not a model in its own right but a detail accessory.
The M10 is an American tank destroyer of the Second World War, built on the chassis of the Sherman tank and armed with a 3-inch (76.2 mm) gun in an open rotating turret. A precisely made barrel and gun mantlet strongly influence the overall impression of a finished model.
Glue the metal barrel with cyanoacrylate; degrease the mating surfaces. Wash the resin mantlet free of mold release agent and cut the casting block off. The metal can be painted directly once it has been primed with a suitable primer. The parts are shaped for the Academy kit.
The set does not contain the base kit, paints or glue. It is an accessory for a model that you obtain separately.
