An injection-molded plastic kit of the American launching station M901 with the MIM-104F Patriot missile system in the PAC-3 version, in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The model represents the characteristic canister launcher module mounted on a trailer, which can be built either in the folded transport position or in the raised firing position. It is a large and striking display piece of modern air defense hardware.
Patriot is an American long-range air and missile defense system able to destroy aircraft, cruise missiles and medium-range ballistic missiles. The PAC-3 version brought new, smaller missiles using the hit-to-kill principle, so the launcher module holds more of them than on the older versions. The M901 launching station is the firing element of a battery and in the field works together with the radar and the control station.
Assemble the trailer chassis and the frame of the launcher module; before closing up the parts, consider fixing the movable elements according to the position you choose, transport or firing. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Apply a primer and a uniform modern olive or desert shade with an airbrush. A subtle wash will pick out the panel lines and the rivets, and pigments at the end will add realistic dust to the running gear and the frame.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
