The set item 1:35 US modern tank crew set N°2 brings several figures together in one box. The designation N°2 in the name means that this is the second arrangement of this line, not that there are two figures. The castings are resin and are supplied unglued and unpainted.
A set has one advantage over individual pieces: the figures are designed together, so they match in size, stylization and level of detail. When you assemble a crew from different sources, it easily happens that one figure looks half a head taller or has noticeably different folds. With an arrangement that worry falls away and you put the scene together faster.
Stand the figures dry on the vehicle before you fix anything. Look for the gaps: two figures right beside each other merge, while three arranged in a triangle hold a scene together. Paint them together and from the same palette, or unwanted differences in the shade of the uniform will arise. Build the transitions of shade in thin coats; pronounced contrasts belong on the equipment rather than on the fabric. The last touch belongs to the footwear and the lower areas: a light breath of dust joins the figures to the groundwork and the scene stops looking like a display arrangement with no setting.
