The decal set 1:35 US Special Shermans - M32B2 TRV from Star Decals brings markings for American recovery vehicles built on the Sherman hull.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a decal set in 1:35 scale from Star Decals, not a kit. The theme is American special Shermans, namely the M32B2 Tank Recovery Vehicle. Markings for support and rear-area hardware are the hardest to come by, because kit boxes tend to fob you off with a few generic national insignia.
The recovery vehicles of the M32 family came about by converting the Sherman tank. In place of a rotating turret they received a fixed superstructure, a folding lattice boom and a powerful winch, so they could tow or lift a damaged vehicle right in the field. The letter and the digit in the designation refer to the base hull, in the case of the M32B2 to the M4A2 variant. This hardware worked within the armored units of the US Army during the Second World War and many machines served in the postwar years too.
Lay the markings only onto a dry base coat covered with gloss varnish, otherwise a matte step will appear under the design and the edges of the carrier film will show. The hull and the superstructure both have the rough texture of a casting and bold welds, so it pays to reach for a decal softener and press the decal patiently against the surface with a cotton swab. Check the removal procedure and the suitable products in the manufacturer's instructions. Give the finished model a matte varnish and only then lay on the dust, the oily stains and the mud that recovery hardware inevitably carries.
The package holds decals. The model, the paints, the varnishes and other accessories are not included, unless stated otherwise.
