The water version of the American container

The container for drinking water had a form of its own with the American army, so that no mix-up with fuel could occur. What gives it away most is the wide screw neck, which made it possible to rinse the container out and to fill it more easily, and the different marking on the body. The shape of the body stayed close to the fuel version, because stowage in the same frames was reckoned with. On a model you therefore tell the two groups apart mainly by the upper part and by the color.

Fastening into frames and holders

Frames and baskets on vehicles tend to be only suggested in kits, so it pays to add straps of thin plastic profile or copper wire. First try the arrangement dry, and only then glue; otherwise you will find that the last piece does not fit into the row. Attach the containers only after the base color has been sprayed and darken the gaps beneath them, so that they do not look stuck onto the surface. Add dust to both at once. It also pays to watch that the load does not cover the hatches and steps that the crew had to work with routinely.
