Twelve American containers for water in 1:35 scale, in the form designated Monarch 1943. A load with which the cargo bed of a truck or the corner of a field camp is filled.
Responsibility details are not available.
The American army carried water in sheet metal containers that at first glance resemble a fuel can but differ in the large screw closure in the upper wall. A wide neck was easier to fill and to clean and could be drawn from, whereas a fuel can has a narrow spout. The volume corresponds to five gallons, that is roughly nineteen liters. So that the crew would not mistake drinking water for fuel, the containers for water carried strong marking. The designation Monarch 1943 from the name corresponds to the way the mark of the maker and the year were pressed into the body; it is therefore the naming of a particular form, not of a type of container.
In the package there are twelve pieces, which is enough to fill the cargo bed of a truck, for a heap of supplies by a field kitchen and for dividing among several models. Each piece is a separate part, so you can stack them, lay them on their side or slide them into holders.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder, so that the swages stay sharp. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Complete the base shade with a dark wash into the swages and a dry brush along the edges and over the closure, which the crew touched most often. Paint a couple of pieces differently or add rubbing, so that the load does not look like twelve identical imprints.
For modelers who build American equipment and dioramas in 1:35 scale. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
