Responsibility details are not available.
This figure in 1:35 scale depicts a pilot of the Czechoslovak Air Force as he looked in 1936. Among figures in this scale an aviation subject is less usual, because 1:35 is traditionally tied to ground vehicles. That is exactly why the figure also suits places where a modeler wants to link an airfield with vehicles and ground support.
Pilots of the mid-1930s flew in open as well as enclosed cockpits and their dress matched that: leather coveralls and jackets, a close-fitting helmet, goggles and high boots. In color it is a warm palette of brown and ocher tones, which differs markedly from ground uniforms. In a scene the figure therefore catches the eye at once.
The most logical setting is an airfield apron, the approach to an aircraft, a hangar or a scene with a servicing vehicle and a stand. The pilot also works on his own on a small base as a display figure complementing a collection of aircraft models, even though those tend to be in a different scale.
Do not paint the leather parts in a single tone: lay down a medium brown base, lighten the edges with ocher and deepen the folds with a dark shade, so that the volume stands out. The glass of the goggles is managed by a drop of gloss varnish over a dark area. The scarves and textile parts on the contrary should be left matte, so that the contrast between the materials stays legible.
