A plastic kit of the German amphibious vehicle VW Schwimmwagen Typ 128 in 1:35 scale from AFV Club. An injection-molded model of the floating off-road car of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit captures the German amphibious vehicle Volkswagen Schwimmwagen Typ 128 in 1:35 scale. The package holds parts in hard plastic, clear glazing, photo-etched detail and rubber tires. The folding propeller, a well-worked interior and small equipment such as a shovel and paddles can all be built.
The Typ 128 was the larger predecessor of the better known Typ 166 and grew out of the full-length chassis of the Kübelwagen. It was an amphibious vehicle with all-wheel drive, which in the water was driven by a folding propeller. The Wehrmacht used these vehicles in the Second World War for reconnaissance and liaison.
Pay attention to the fine photo-etched detail and to the mechanism of the propeller. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement, apply a base coat (primer) and spray with an airbrush. The small dimensions of the vehicle invite careful work on the detail and thin coats of paint. Fine-tune the weathering with washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
