The fourth variant of deflated tires for a model of the German staff automobile Volkswagen Type 82E Käfer. The rubber is modeled collapsed, as it looks after a loss of pressure, and it differs from the other renditions of the range in the design of the pattern on the tread.
The sedan on a military chassis carried several forms of finish during the war. Earlier examples went out in a uniform dark gray, and from 1943 a dark yellow base prevailed, onto which units in the field sprayed brown and green patches. Only a few surviving examples remain today and among collectors of veteran vehicles they are highly prized, because the number built was incomparably lower than that of the ordinary Kübelwagen.
Paint the rim and the tire separately, ideally before you seat the wheel on the model. A very dark gray-brown suits the rubber, which you then lighten once it is dry with a light wipe of a dusty tone. Finally it helps to pick the edges of the rim out in spots, so that the wheel separates visually from the fender. Before you glue the part on for good, try its position dry and turn it so that the collapsed part points down to the base; otherwise the whole impression falls apart.
You get the wheels alone, with no finish and without the base kit.
