A modern American tank crew at rest, 1:35 from DEF Model is a set of resin figures in relaxed poses. It is not a vehicle kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set of resin figures in 1:35 scale captures members of a modern American tank crew at a moment of rest, that is in relaxed rather than combat poses. The figures are supplied unpainted and have to be cleaned up and glued before painting.
A crew in a resting pose is one of the most rewarding ways to give a model life. Figures leaning against the turret, sitting on a fender or standing beside the vehicle determine the scale at once and create a scene without your having to build a whole extensive diorama. Resting poses have the further advantage that they can be rearranged freely and will take even a simple base. The set suits models of modern American armored hardware, but it can also be used in more general scenes from a training area.
Wash the castings first in lukewarm water with dish soap and degrease them, or the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, level the surface and protect your breathing while sanding resin. Glue the parts with super glue, and on larger joints a gel version helps. Apply a thin primer. Build the skin from a base tone to highlights and shadows, blending the transitions. With modern uniforms the discipline in the pattern is crucial: the base shade of the fabric first and only then the blotches, everything in a size reduced to scale, otherwise the pattern will look coarse. Pick the folds out with a thin wash and go lightly over the highest places with a dry brush. Even the surface out with a matte varnish at the end and match the figures to the model so that their poses suit whatever they are leaning on.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted, in resin. Glue, paints and a vehicle model are not included in the package.
