A resin multi-figure set in 1:35. The Waffen-SS marking in the name is a statement about the type of uniform, that is information about the cut of the clothing and the camouflage pattern you will be painting. The Anorakanzug is a winter suit of anorak cut with a loose blouse and trousers; period examples used a reversible treatment with a white and a camouflaged side. The set is an add-on to a finished model or for a scene, not a vehicle kit.
What the set solves
The set version brings figures of the same line together in one package, so the figures match one another in both scale and treatment and can be stood side by side in one group. Check the exact number of figures and how they are split into parts against the illustration on the packaging.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that the mold release agent is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and level the cut face with a file; do the sanding of resin wet and with your breathing protected. Look over the mold parting lines against the light and scrape any flash off with a scalpel. Glue separate parts, for example heads and hands, with cyanoacrylate glue, fill the gaps and sand them down.
Apply a primer before painting. Build the white side of the suit on a light gray base and leave pure white for the crests of the folds, or the surfaces will flatten out. Take the camouflaged surface as a painting task in three steps: the base, larger blotches, fine drawing with a thin brush. Bring the recesses out with a dark wash and light the edges gently. Paint the skin separately and with calm transitions. Bring the figures together with a matte clear coat and dust the lower part of the clothing and the footwear with pigment to match the base you will stand the figures on. With a group it pays to mix the paints for the uniforms in one batch, so that the figures match.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
