A figure of a Waffen-SS soldier, Normandy 1944, 1:35 scale is a resin figure from the maker PANZER ART. It completes the NCO figure of the same subject into a joint scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin figure in 1:35 for a diorama or for a vehicle model, not a kit of equipment. The manufacturer also makes an NCO figure and a joint set of the same subject.
Against the NCO figure there is more carried equipment here: straps, pouches and a belt divide the torso into areas and break the run of the camouflage pattern. That matters to a modeler, because the pattern is painted on the fabric, not across the straps, and the transitions have to stay logical. It proves worthwhile to paint the whole fabric with its pattern first and only then to deal separately with the leather and webbing accessories, which do not follow the pattern. The pose is standing and workmanlike, with an arm hanging loose.
Once the mold release agent is washed off and the casting blocks are cut away, glue the figure with cyanoacrylate glue and fill the gaps. A primer in a tone close to the base fabric saves a coat. Build the pattern from the large dark areas to the smallest blotches and let it dry between the coats. Paint the leather items with a dark brown base, let a wash into the grooves and suggest the edges with a dry brush, so that the straps stand out above the fabric. Pull the metal buckles and clasps out with a dot of metallic paint, not across the whole surface; in this scale a hint is enough. Do the face at the very end, when the rest is already finished and there is no risk of soiling it. Finish with a matte clear coat and leave the leather a touch glossier than the fabric.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The paints, the glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
