This is an aftermarket set of workable tracks cast in a metal alloy in 1:35 scale. The set holds individual links and wire from which you cut the pins that join the links into a fully workable run. It is not a model of the vehicle but a quality accessory that replaces the plastic tracks from the box and gives the running gear realistic weight as well as crisply drawn detail.
Metal tracks are used as a replacement for the soft rubber or segmented plastic tracks supplied with kits of the British Warrior MCV infantry fighting vehicle. Thanks to the real weight of the metal the track settles and sags naturally over the road wheels and the idler wheels, which cannot be achieved with plastic without modification. You will appreciate the result above all on a diorama, where the tracks are visible from the side.
First rid the links of flash and casting residue, make the pins by cutting the enclosed wire to the length needed and secure them with a drop of super glue at the ends, so that the middle stays movable. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a base color (a primer) suitable for metals, otherwise the covering paint rubs off. Fine-tune the final look with washes and pigments for dust and mud.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
