A plastic kit of the British heavy ambulance K2/Y in 1:35 scale from Gecko Models, in a special limited boxing. The kit is richly detailed and holds clear parts, photo-etched elements and several build options; the rear medical compartment is worked out in detail as well.
The Austin K2/Y, nicknamed Katy, was a British heavy ambulance built on the chassis of the K30 truck. It served during the Second World War for medical evacuation, and the rear body took wounded soldiers lying down and sitting up, stretchers included. The vehicle is one of the iconic Allied ambulances of its era.
First finish and paint the detailed interior of the body with the stretchers, and only then close it up. Use the photo-etched parts for the fine details. British olive paintwork suits an airbrush and light weathering; match the red crosses and the markings to the decals supplied.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
