Responsibility details are not available.
Among diorama buildings a windmill is exceptional in that the viewer remembers it. This item is not a model of equipment but a scenic building in 1:35 scale, which can be set into a rural landscape just as well as into a combat scene at the edge of fields.
The sails of the mill form an outline visible from all sides, so the building works even seen from behind, where other buildings come across as empty. The slanting lines moreover break up the right angles of the other elements and give the composition movement. The mill is also a rewarding theme for a story: a unit that has taken it as an observation post, or a farmer who does not want to leave.
First think the turn of the sails over – once seated they turn with difficulty, and the turn settles where the scene will look best from. Paint the wood in several tones and let it gray from the weather, adding stronger wear on the windward side. Complete the surroundings with tall grass and a worn field track, so that the mill does not stand in emptiness. Count also on a tall building needing a firm anchoring into the base – straightening a leaning structure afterward tends to be unpleasant.
Paints, grass and glue are not included in this item.
