A set of figures of wounded German paratroopers in 1:35 scale. A subject for dioramas with treatment and evacuation from combat.
Responsibility details are not available.
The German airborne units of the Second World War fought as a rule cut off from the main forces, without support and often without communications. Losses therefore weighed more heavily than with ordinary infantry: there was nowhere to evacuate a wounded man quickly, and caring for him tied up further men who were missing from the firing line at that moment. Scenes of treatment by the wall of a house, at the edge of a trench or behind the wreck of a vehicle are among the things that appear in period photographs as often as an attack, only they are rarely seen on models.
The set brings figures of wounded paratroopers in 1:35 scale. Into a diorama it brings what equipment by itself cannot: the reason the scene has come to a halt, and the relationship between the figures. It works well at a dressing station, at an evacuation vehicle or as a counterweight to figures in motion.
Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that the folds of the clothing and the straps are preserved. Before painting, wash and degrease the figures and choose the glue according to the material of the parts. First set the figures out dry on a base and work out where each of them is looking; with a lying or supported figure it easily happens that after gluing neither the height nor the angle fits. Mix the uniforms toward rather faded shades, choose a grayish white for the bandages rather than pure white, and leave the faces to the end.
For modelers who build dioramas from the Second World War in 1:35 scale and are looking for a scene with action. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
