A separate figure of a German tank crewman in 1:35 scale from Dynamo Models. It is the driver from the crew of the Tiger tank with the tactical number 222 in Normandy in 1944, and within the series it carries the number four. The manufacturer offers the members of this crew individually and in joint sets, so the figures can be added to gradually.
The driver is a rewarding figure in a diorama, because his place in the front of the hull opens up different compositional possibilities than the commander in the turret. The figure can be placed in the hatch, on the armor beside an open hatch and outside the vehicle during maintenance. At the same time the figure gives a model scale: only next to a person is it clear how large a heavy tank really was.
Before painting, wash the figure in lukewarm water with detergent and degrease it; on resin castings that removes the mold release agent. Cut the casting remains off with a thin saw, because thin parts such as fingers or the edges of equipment break easily. Fill the joints with modeling putty and sand them down once dry. Apply the primer in a thin coat, so that the folds of the cloth are not lost. Paint the uniform with a shaded area, emphasizing the edges and with darker deep folds, and build the skin in layers from a darker tone toward the light. If you are placing the figure in a hatch, check dry that the shoulders and elbows will pass through the opening, and adjust the turn of the figure if need be before you glue it.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and a model of the vehicle are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
