A separate figure of a German tank crewman in 1:35 scale from Dynamo Models. It represents the gunner from the crew of the Tiger tank with the tactical number 222 in Normandy in 1944 and carries the number two in the series. The manufacturer offers the members of this crew individually and in joint sets, so the figures can be combined as a scene requires.
A figure gives a model of a vehicle both scale and a story. Without a crew, even a carefully built tank looks like a technical exhibit; a single figure at the turret or by the hull brings a scene to life at once and shows the viewer the real size of the machine. German tank crews wore a specific uniform that differs from infantry dress in cut and accessories, and that is exactly what you notice on a figure in a larger scale.
Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and degrease them; on resin castings that removes the mold release agent residue, on which paint would not hold. Cut the casting remains off with a saw or a knife, not with nippers, which can break thin parts off. Sand the parting line with fine paper and bond the joints with super glue. Before painting, spray the figure with a primer, ideally in a gray shade, which will show up any unfinished spots. Build the face and hands from a darker base toward lighter layers, and on the uniform use shaded areas with gentle emphasis on the folds. At the end, set the figure onto the vehicle and check that the arms and legs sit on real points of support.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and a model of the vehicle are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
