The wheels of the WTCT-6 cargo trailer in 1:35 scale, in the rendering with compressed rubber. For the kit from I Love Kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The cargo trailer designated WTCT-6 accompanied amphibious trucks where their own load bed stopped being enough. It was a low trailer on a pair of wheels that could be towed overland and taken along on the water, and in the supply chains running from a beach into the interior it became an ordinary part of the picture.
The package covers the wheels of the trailer in the shape where the rubber is compressed by the load. On so small a machine this matters: the wheels make up a large part of all that is visible of it at all, and the difference between a smooth cylinder and a wheel bedding down on a flat face is recognized at once, with no need of a magnifier.
The set is prepared for the kit from I Love Kit. The trailer alone will not carry a scene, but as an accessory it works excellently: set aside, uncoupled by a depot or loaded with crates, it gives a scene scale and fills a dead spot without drawing attention from the main vehicle. During the build it proves itself to attach the wheels only after the frame is painted, because otherwise a brush reaches them with difficulty. And since the trailer is light, feel free to prop one side of it on a small stone or a clod of earth; a tilted trailer looks livelier than one standing as if to a ruler. The trailer makes sense even if you are still building the main vehicle: set aside by a road it suggests by itself that the towing machine is somewhere nearby, and the scene gains a plot by it.
