A photo-etched set in 1:35 scale intended for models of German military equipment of the Second World War period. Photo-etched parts are used on models everywhere a plastic part would have to be disproportionately thick because of the way it is manufactured: on fenders, covers, grilles, tool holders and small fittings. A metal part is a few tenths of a millimeter thick, so once glued on it looks far more faithful in miniature than a plastic substitute.
A photo-etched fret in which the individual parts are held by thin tabs. The exact extent of the set and the kit it is intended for are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Leave the smallest elements in the fret as long as possible and release them only when their turn comes in the build; loose parts are easily lost.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface rather than by breaking them out; then level the remains of the tabs with a fine file or abrasive paper. Make the bends along the scored lines, best of all in a photo-etch bending tool or at least between two straight jaws. Cyanoacrylate glue works well for joining them, and on heavily stressed places soldering comes into question too. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a thin coat of base paint, otherwise the shade will easily rub off the smooth surface.
The set suits modelers who have already worked with photo-etched parts and want to move the level of detail of a build in 1:35 scale forward. The model, paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
