1:35 M2A1 105 mm howitzer — photo-etched set is a small accessory for a plastic model of the gun you already own, not a standalone model. The metal parts replace the finest details of the carriage and the shield, and the set is cut for the Dragon 6499 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This small detail set from Voyager Model is meant for a plastic model of the American M2A1 light howitzer. It is not a kit of the gun but a targeted accessory for the Dragon 6499 model. The contents of the fret are given in the manufacturer's instructions in the package.
The M2A1 howitzer of 105 mm caliber was the standard artillery piece of American divisions during the Second World War. It was a towed gun on a split trail carriage with a two-wheeled running gear and a flat shield, usually moved by a truck or a half-track tractor. The design proved itself so well that in derived forms it served for a long time after the war. On a model it is a fairly small object on which the fine details of the carriage are seen from very close up.
On a small gun every part is visible, but at the same time most of them are tiny. It pays to work over a light-colored tray with a raised edge, so that a part that springs away does not end up on the floor, and to use tweezers with smoothed jaws. Apply the paint in genuinely thin coats; on small photo-etched parts a heavy coat quickly fills every detail. Metal also offers one thing plastic cannot: wear can be burnished with a glass pencil or fine abrasive down to bare brass, so that real metal sits beneath the paint rather than silver paint. Complete it with a dark wash in the recesses and a dry brush along the edges.
This is an add-on set for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
