US paratroopers with a Cushman parascooter and a cable reel cart (Set 2) 1:35 is an injection-molded figure set from Gecko Models.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic set in 1:35 scale from Gecko Models holding figures of American paratroopers of the Second World War together with a light Cushman airborne scooter and a cart for a cable drum. The package is rounded out by photo-etched parts, decals and plentiful accessories - weapons, ammo pouches, bags and personal equipment. It is not a model of an aircraft or of a vehicle on its own but a genre figure scene.
The light Cushman scooter was dropped by parachute along with paratroopers in the Second World War and served for quick movement and for carrying light loads. The cart for a cable drum was used by signalers for laying telephone line. The set captures a typical scene from the equipment of American paratroopers.
The figures and the small accessories call for careful cleaning up and gluing; glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. The uniforms and equipment come out well when painted in shades of olive and khaki, followed by highlighting and washes to bring out the folds and the detail. Paint and weather the scooter and the cart separately, and only then put the whole scene together.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
