Eduard 1:35 Zimmerit Tiger I is a photo-etched application set, which imitates the characteristic structure of the Zimmerit anti-magnetic coating on a model of the German heavy tank.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched application set from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:35 scale. This is not a stand-alone model but an accessory, which imitates on a plastic model of the German Tiger I heavy tank the structure of Zimmerit, that is of the anti-magnetic coating with its characteristic ribbing. The formed photo-etched parts are laid on the surfaces of the hull and the turret and so faithfully replace the shaping of texture paste by hand.
The Tiger I was a German heavy tank of the Second World War, feared for its heavy armor and its gun of large caliber. Zimmerit was a paste applied to the vertical surfaces of vehicles, the purpose of which was to keep magnetic anti-tank mines from sticking to them. Its ribbed surface is typical of the late vehicles.
The photo-etched Zimmerit parts are shaped carefully onto the rounded surfaces and glued with super glue. Take care that the individual segments carry over into one another exactly. Once they are stuck on, the structure is treated with a primer and painted; bringing it out with a wash will emphasize the characteristic ribbing.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
