A wooden deck for a model of the German battleship Tirpitz in 1:350 scale, intended for the Academy kit number BA903.
Responsibility details are not available.
Tirpitz was the second ship of her class and the sister ship of Bismarck, that is, one of the two largest surface units of the Kriegsmarine in the Second World War. She spent most of her service in the Norwegian fjords, where her presence alone tied down considerable enemy forces, and she was sunk in 1944 in an air raid with heavy bombs. On a model it is above all the extensive upper deck that stands out, as it makes up a large part of what the viewer sees from above.
This is a wooden deck for a model in 1:350 scale, cut to the Academy kit listed under kit number BA903. It covers the surface of the plastic deck and replaces the engraved drawing of planks with the real grain of wood, which neither paint nor shading can imitate.
First clear the plastic deck of raised detail and unevenness so that the piece does not lift anywhere. Check in the instructions from the manufacturer whether the deck is self-adhesive or is glued separately. Lay it on dry as a test and only then permanently, because moving it back afterward tends to be difficult. Fit the superstructure and the deck equipment at the very end. The wood is usually left in the natural shade; if you want to varnish it, try the varnish on an offcut first.
The deck alone is supplied. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
