1:350 Schleswig-Holstein (1935) is a set of turned metal gun barrels from MASTER for a model of this ship as she was in the mid-1930s. It is not a kit of the ship but an accessory for one.
Responsibility details are not available.
A metal accessory from the Polish brand MASTER intended for a model of the battleship Schleswig-Holstein in 1:350 scale, specifically for her configuration of 1935. The set belongs to the range of turned metal barrels and accessories, so it does not replace the kit but the plastic gun moldings on it. The machined barrels have genuinely drilled muzzles, a precisely circular section along their whole length and are free of the mold parting line and the sink marks that commonly appear on thin plastic parts.
The Schleswig-Holstein was a battleship of the so-called pre-dreadnought type, launched in the first decade of the twentieth century. By the 1930s she was technically obsolete and served above all as a training ship for naval cadets, which brought with it a number of rebuilds of the superstructures and the armament. The year in the name of the set is therefore not an extra detail but distinguishes a particular state of the ship, because her appearance and her gun fit changed during her service.
Cut off the plastic barrels as close to the turret or the shield as you can and level the surface. Drill the holes for the pins with a micro drill and dry-fit each barrel first, so that the projection and the elevation are right. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue in minimal amounts. Degrease the metal and go over it with a primer, and only then paint it to the shade of the rest of the ship. It is a good idea to leave the muzzles darker or in bare metal, as a small contrast does a lot on a model in 1:350.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a kit of the ship. The glue, the paints and the base model are not included in the package.
