This small set captures the fire truck of the US Navy as it appeared on flight decks. The 1:350 scale is the home of large waterline ships, so the vehicle finds its use mainly on models of aircraft carriers and in display cases where the deck is meant to be inhabited by equipment rather than an empty area. The set comes from the Black Dog brand.
Firefighting equipment stands ready on deck throughout flight operations. It deals with fires arising from accidents to aircraft taking off and landing, cools the surroundings of the incident and covers the area with extinguishing agent so that the fire does not spread to other aircraft and to the fuel stores. That is precisely why it is parked at the edge of the deck, from where the crew can reach either side of the ship quickly.
With an object this small it is cleanness of work that decides. Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel, level the marks left by production with a fine-grained file and degrease the surface before painting. Apply the paint heavily thinned and in several passes, so that the edges and the engraving are not lost. A dark wash will settle the shadows into the recesses, while a fine dry brush will lift the edges and the superstructure. A matte varnish evens the look out at the end.
You receive the vehicle unassembled and unpainted. Obtain the paints and the glue to your own habit; you will not find them in the package.
