An injection-molded plastic kit of the American nuclear attack submarine USS Greeneville (SSN-772) of the Los Angeles class in 1:350 scale from the manufacturer Hobby Boss. The model captures one of the last boats of this class in the 688I form, with the modernized arrangement of the forward diving planes on the bow. The package offers a split full hull with engraved detail, photo-etched parts, a stand with a nameplate and decals.
USS Greeneville is one of the late vessels of the Los Angeles class, the most numerous class of nuclear attack submarines in the world. The 688I version has the diving planes moved from the sail to the bow and a quieter, modernized design. Attack submarines (SSN) serve to hunt enemy submarines and surface targets, for reconnaissance and to protect task forces. Greeneville was launched in the middle of the 1990s.
The submarine can be finished as a full hull on a stand or as a waterline on a sea base. Dry-fit the hull halves and sand the joint over once it has dried, so that the seam disappears. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Spray the hull matte black, set the deck apart and tie the surface together with a fine wash; finish the small parts last.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
