Wallpapers for a damaged house, 1:72 scale

Sheets with motifs of household wallpapers in 1:72 scale. They come into their own in a breached wall, in a blown-off facade and anywhere a structure can be seen into from outside.

What a scrap of wallpaper does in a ruin

A ruin with no inside stays a heap of masonry, because there is nothing to hold on to. A scrap of patterned wall above the rubble turns that impression round: the viewer sees at once that there was an apartment here, and the scene gains both scale and a story. In 1:72 scale very little is needed for that. A panel one centimeter on a side corresponds to roughly seventy centimeters of real wall, so even a small piece on the inner face of a wall does its job.

Working with small pieces

• Cut them out with a margin and trim the exact edge only once dry.
• Lay a piece down with tweezers and press it home with a blunt toothpick; a finger will smear the surface.
• Apply the glue to the wall, not to the sheet, as a thin print will wave in your hand.
• Add the dust and dirt at the very end and run them across the wallpaper and the masonry alike, so that they belong together.
• Try the glue, the paint and the glaze on an offcut in advance and go by the manufacturer's instructions.

Who the sheets are for

For builders of combat and civilian scenes in 1:72 scale who work with damaged buildings and want a ruin to look like a house rather than a pile of bricks. The model of the building, the figures, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
