A German battle flag of the Second World War as an accessory for a diorama in 1:48 scale. It will bring the bed of a vehicle, a flagpole or the front of a building to life.
Responsibility details are not available.
A German battle flag of the Second World War period was part of the usual equipment of a scene that modelers build around vehicles and figures. Flags appeared on poles at occupied buildings, on building fronts and spread out on vehicles, where they served as a recognition marking for the Luftwaffe. In a diorama it therefore plays a double part: it places a scene in time and place and at the same time brings a surface of color into it.
The 1:48 scale is shared by a large part of aircraft models and by some models of military vehicles, so the accessory will come into its own in a scene on an airfield, at a forward post and in city buildings. It works well as the visual center of a diorama, which the eye goes to before the vehicles.
A flag looks alive only when it is not completely flat; a slight sag or a lifted edge will hint at the direction of the wind. Place it so that it does not cover the most interesting thing on the model, and tie the color in with the whole scene, so that the new surface does not look like stuck-on paper.
The package holds this accessory only. The model, the figures, the staff, the diorama base, the paints and the glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
