Responsibility details are not available.
Alongside racing cars, the Fast Guide edition from Komakai also takes in motorcycles, and this volume belongs to the Yamaha YZF-R1M supersport. It is supplied as a printed publication on the real subject, not as a model.
The R1M is the top version of the YZF-R1 supersport. Its inline four-cylinder with a crossplane crankshaft has uneven firing intervals, so it sounds more like a racing machine with a V engine than like a classic four, and it gives the rider unusually readable delivery to the rear wheel. Against the base version, the M received semi-active suspension with electronically controlled damping, carbon fiber bodywork parts and an extended electronics package resting on an inertial unit that watches both the lean and the longitudinal acceleration of the machine. It is built in limited numbers and aims at riders who take the motorcycle out onto a closed circuit.
A model of a motorcycle forgives less than a car, because the frame, the engine and the exhaust headers all stay visible once it is finished. What decides is cleanliness in painting the small parts and the correct routing of wiring and hoses, and that is exactly where reference material on the real subject helps most. It also helps in deciding which parts to leave in a metallic shade and which to match instead to the paint of the bodywork.
