This publication from the Fast Guide edition of the publisher Komakai is devoted to the Lancia LC2 endurance prototype. The shipment holds a printed volume on the real subject, not a model or accessories for a build.
The LC2 was a Group C prototype with which Lancia stood up to its German rivals in endurance racing in the mid-1980s. The double name in the designation is no mistake: in the middle of the car sat a turbocharged V8 derived from a Ferrari unit, while the Italian firm Dallara took care of building the chassis and Lancia's racing department handled the entries. Its angular aerodynamic body and light corporate colors with bold stripes made it one of the visually most striking cars of its era. In qualifying the LC2 was among the fastest machines on the grid and collected a number of front-row positions, but in the races themselves it lacked the reliability and the economy of its rivals, so big victories remained rare.
Group C prototypes have complex shapes and a great deal of machinery hidden under hinged covers. When a model is built with the tail open or with the engine exposed, you need to know how the space around the power unit was really arranged.
