Medium polishing compound, 30 ml from Number Five: the step between sanding and fine polishing of paintwork.
Responsibility details are not available.
A polishing compound in a medium grade in a thirty milliliter package. In the correct sequence for polishing paint it sits in the middle: once clear varnish has been applied, the surface is first sanded with a very fine abrasive, then this compound comes in and removes the sanding marks, and finally the fine compound, after which the surface starts to mirror. Skipping the middle step is the most common reason a surface never reaches full gloss, because the fine compound will not remove abrasive paper marks on its own.
The varnish has to be fully hardened, not merely dry to the touch, and with clear lacquers that means days rather than hours. Apply the compound to a soft cloth or a polishing foam and work in circles, without pressure and over small areas. Wipe as you go and check how the surface is behaving. Polish edges and sharp transitions only lightly, as the paint is thinnest there and wears through first. When you are done, wash the residue off so that it does not settle in the engraved lines and panel gaps.
For car and motorcycle modelers who build display models with glossy paint, and for anyone who sands and polishes paint after spraying.
Keep the product out of the reach of children, ventilate while working and close the jar after use.
