A Quinta color interior for a model of the PT-17 Kaydet trainer biplane in 1:32 scale, cut for the Roden kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The PT-17 Kaydet is an American trainer biplane on which whole year groups of pilots learned to fly during the war. It has two open cockpits one behind the other, so on a finished model you can see into them from every angle and empty interiors cannot be hidden. In the large 1:32 scale that goes double.
The Quinta set in 1:32 scale completes the interior of both cockpits and is cut for the Roden kit. The elements are printed on decal backing paper, carry raised relief and are already colored, so you do not have to paint the instrument panels, the side walls and the seat belts dial by dial. The result is even also where hand painting would struggle.
The elements transfer by the wet method. They have no adhesive layer of their own and hold on a gloss varnish, so first true up the surface in the cockpit, degrease it, paint it and go over it with a varnish such as Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22. Then cut the piece out, leave it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the backing paper into place. Align the position with a brush and blot the excess water with a soft stick; in intricate places a drop of cyanoacrylate glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution, as the chemicals will attack the printed resin.
Unless stated otherwise, the package contains only the add-on set; the kit, paints and glue are not part of it.
