Replacement wheels for the C-130 Hercules transport aircraft in 1:48 scale, in the form designated in the name as mid.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is a four-engine military transport aircraft with a high-set wing and a rear cargo ramp. It has been in service since the 1950s and is used by a number of countries. Its landing gear is built for unpaved surfaces as well: the main wheels are arranged in tandem pairs and retract into side fairings on the fuselage, so they stay clearly visible on a standing machine.
The set contains replacement wheels for the C-130 in 1:48 scale. The qualifier mid in the name sets this form apart from the other wheel variants for the same machine; which series of the aircraft they belong to and which kit the wheels are cut for is given by the manufacturer in the instructions. Replacement wheels tend to have a more legible tread pattern and crisper definition of the hub than the parts from a kit.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder with fine abrasive paper without disturbing the circumference of the rim. Glue with a small amount of cyanoacrylate, as liquid cement for plastic will not hold here. Wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent before painting. Go around the boundary between the rubber and the hub with a brush once the base shade has dried, or mask it with tape before spraying.
It suits a modeler who is building the Hercules in 1:48 scale and wants the landing gear brought out in detail. Paints, glue, masks and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
