This is an aftermarket detail set of 3D printed resin parts from the manufacturer Elefant, intended for models of the German Pz.Kpfw. IV tank in the early versions A to D in 1:35 scale. The set contains five signal horns (klaxons) in the two-holder variant. It is not a kit of the vehicle but a small accessory for raising the fidelity of a model; the dimensions of the real parts were the reference.

The real subject

The Pz.Kpfw. IV was the basic German medium tank of the Second World War, built in many versions. The early versions A to D carried a short gun barrel and characteristic features of external equipment, among which were the signal horns placed at the front on the hull. An exactly rendered detail of this equipment brings the otherwise smooth surfaces of a model to life.

Use and tips

• Separate the parts carefully from the print supports with a sharp knife.
• Before gluing, clean up the marks left by the supports by sanding and wash the dust off.
• Glue them with cyanoacrylate.
• Five pieces make it possible to fit several models or to keep a spare in case of damage.
