The box contains more than 260 parts, a movable barrel and wheels, and accessories such as ammunition. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The 2S1 Gvozdika is a Soviet self-propelled howitzer developed in the 1970s on a tracked chassis derived from the MT-LBu armored personnel carrier. It carries a 122 mm howitzer in a rotating turret, is fully amphibious and is protected by light armor against splinters and small arms. It was built in large numbers and adopted by more than forty armies around the world; it is one of the icons of Cold War artillery.
On armored vehicles, finish and paint the running gear before you close the hull. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic. Assemble the movable barrel and turret carefully so that they stay working. Apply a primer and paint with an airbrush; a uniform green shade or a three-color camouflage is typical of Soviet and Russian equipment. Bring out the recesses with a dark wash, the edges with dry brushing, and dust the running gear down with dust and mud pigments.
