The model on offer works up the self-propelled howitzer in the reduced scale of 1:100, which on ground equipment is used for collections with a larger number of pieces and for tabletop games. Thanks to the size the build is short, so it also suits as a relaxing project between more demanding models.
The MSTA-S is a modern tracked self-propelled howitzer of 152 mm caliber, built on a chassis derived from main battle tanks. The turret with its long barrel and automated feeding of rounds gives it a high rate of fire and the ability to change firing position quickly. The machine appeared at the end of the 1980s and to this day remains in active service with a number of armies.
In this scale cleanness of the joints matters more than the amount of detail, so clean up the mold parting lines on the hull as well as on the turret carefully. Choose a coat a shade lighter than reality would call for, because small models darken optically. Bring out the shadows between the road wheels with a thin wash and emphasize the edges by drybrushing. Keep the barrel straight; on small models every deviation is striking at first glance.
The package contains an unassembled model with no surface finish; glue and paints have to be bought separately.
