This set of masks from Art Scale belongs to a model of the two-seat multirole aircraft Su-30MK in 1:48 scale. It helps you manage the dense network of glazing frames on the tandem cockpit and the other places where the paint needs a precisely set boundary. The name places the item among the single-sided versions, and the double-sided version is a separate item ordered on its own. There are no plastic parts or paints in the package. The target kit is Kitty Hawk.
The Su-30 grew out of the two-seat Su-27UB and moved its possibilities from training to full combat use: the second crew member works the weapon systems and directs action at long range. The letters MK in the designation belong to the export machines, which a number of foreign operators took on over time. The silhouette is unmistakable, with its long nose, twin vertical tails and engine nacelles set far apart with a tunnel between them.
Modern machines of this family carry multi-tone gray-blue camouflage, where the order of the coats matters: start with the lightest tone and work over it toward the darker ones. The transitions between color fields tend to be soft, so the masking there can be lifted slightly, while on the glazing it should be pressed down as tightly as possible. The large flat areas of the airframe reward a slow approach at low pressure, because every unevenness in the coat shows on them.
