The decals 1:144 303 Squadron RAF, Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IIb from AML Decals will complete a small model with the markings of the Polish squadron.
Responsibility details are not available.
This sheet from the brand AML Decals is meant for a model of the Spitfire in the small scale and it brings the markings of No. 303 Squadron of the Royal Air Force. It is not a kit and not an accessory for building the structure, but the decals themselves, which go onto a finished and painted model.
No. 303 Squadron RAF was a Polish fighter unit that made its name during the Battle of Britain on Hawker Hurricanes. At the beginning of 1941 it re-equipped with Spitfires and operated among other places from the airfield at Northolt within the Polish wing. The Mk.II version had a Rolls-Royce Merlin XII engine and started with a cartridge starter; the letter b in the designation refers to the wing with mixed armament of cannons and machine guns.
In 1:144 scale the motifs really are small, so get flat-jawed tweezers and plenty of light ready. The surface under a decal must be smooth and glossy, or flat edges will appear around the film. Soak the decal briefly, let it come loose on the paper and slide it into place with a soft brush. Dose the softener sparingly, as a strong solution would ripple or tear a motif this small.
