A decal sheet for the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb in 1:144 scale with the markings of the machines of Czechoslovak pilots of No. 65 Squadron RAF.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Spitfire Mk.Vb carried the so-called type B wing, that is a pair of 20 mm cannons supplemented by four machine guns. It was powered by the liquid-cooled Merlin V12 engine. Czechoslovak pilots served among the strength of No. 65 Squadron RAF as well, and it is their machines that the sheet is devoted to.
The markings are worked out for the Spitfire Mk.Vb in 1:144 scale. A small scale places high demands on the printing: the roundels, code letters and personal markings carry most of what a viewer reads on a finished model. Which machines are covered on the sheet and which kit it is cut for are given in the enclosed instructions.
First varnish the surface under the decal to a gloss, otherwise a matte edge will appear around the film. Soak the element, slide it off the paper, settle it with a brush and let it dry. A softener helps where the decal crosses an unevenness. Finally go over the area with varnish. Work over a tray, so that the tiny film does not vanish from the table, and leave the model in peace to dry after application.
For modelers who build in small scales and are interested in the service of the Czechoslovak airmen in the RAF. It will serve as an addition to a part-built collection of small fighters too. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
