A decal set from the AML brand in 1:72 scale, intended for models of the night fighter versions of the de Havilland Mosquito, specifically the NF.XII and the NF.XIX. In the package you will find only a printed sheet, no plastic parts and no kit of the aircraft.
The Mosquito was a British twin-engine aircraft of wooden construction that was built in a surprisingly wide spectrum of roles, from bomber through reconnaissance machine to night fighter. It was the night versions that received a radar in the nose and a different shape of radome, by which the individual sub-versions can be told apart. The NF.XII and the NF.XIX are among them and fall into the period when night fighting had matured into an elaborate discipline with its own tactics and its own crew training.
Night machines tended to be painted very dark, and on a surface like that every decal is twice as visible. Smooth and varnish the base carefully, therefore, otherwise a rectangle will stay noticeable around the motif. Settle the light codes in a single pass and let them dry without interference. Once it is finished, a very fine matte overcoat is worth it, which ties the surface together and at the same time does not emphasize the texture of the wooden airframe.
