1:24 Mercedes AMG GT Black Series is a cast set of the sharpest version of the GT coupe, offered by the Alpha Model brand.

The set is based on resin castings, to which the maker adds photo-etched elements, clear parts for the glazing and the lights, tires and a decal sheet. The cast body holds the sharp edges of the real car including the huge rear wing and the flared fenders, so what is left to the modeler is mainly the preparation of the surface and the color.
With AMG, Black Series means the hardest level of modification. The GT coupe version received a V8 with a displacement of four liters with two turbochargers and a reworked flat-plane crankshaft, which gave it markedly higher revs and a different sound. With that go downforce wings with an adjustable blade, modified suspension, ceramic brakes and a lightened body with large parts of carbon-fiber composite. The car came about in 2020.
On a body as broken up as this it is worth dividing the varnishing into stages and masking gradually, so that the sharp edges stay clean. The carbon surfaces can be managed either with a decal film carrying the weave, or with a dark base and a fine overspray. Glue the wing and the front splitter at the very end; they break off easily. Remove the remains of the mold release agent from the castings, otherwise the finish will lift.
The model is sold broken down into parts and without a finish; the completion is up to the modeler.
