A set of early-type seats for the A-20 Havoc in 1:32 scale, supplemented by textile belts and photo-etched buckles.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Douglas A-20 Havoc was an American twin-engine light bomber and attack aircraft of the Second World War, used on most fronts. The designations J and K belong to its late versions. The set concerns the seats of the early type, that is the arrangement used on the earlier machines of this family.
The basis is the seats intended for the cockpit in 1:32 scale. With them go belts of textile, which can be folded naturally and left to fall loosely over the edge of the seat, something a stiff plastic part cannot do. The buckles are photo-etched from metal, so they are thin and hold a sharp shape even after being bent.
Wash and degrease the seats before painting. Separate the photo-etched buckles with a sharp blade a little way from the fret tab, sand the remainder and shape them with tweezers over an edge. Thread the textile belt through the buckle, lay it into the seat and secure it with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue, which you apply carefully so that it is not drawn into the fabric in a visible place. Lay paint on metal only over a base coat and leave the fabric as it is. Fit the seat into the kit only once it is painted, otherwise you will have trouble reaching it later.
The set is for builders in large scales, where there is a view into the cockpit and where plastic belts look out of place. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
