A wooden deck for a model of the battleship DKM Gneisenau in 1:400 scale from Artwox Model. A self-adhesive laser-cut veneer with a printed-in drawing of the planks.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory, not a ship model. The self-adhesive wooden deck of fine veneer is laser-cut to the shape of the decks of the German battleship Gneisenau in 1:400 scale. The printed-in drawing of the planks replaces smooth plastic and gives the model the natural look of a wooden walking deck. The set completes a plastic kit matching this ship and this scale.
The Gneisenau, together with her sister ship Scharnhorst, belonged to the class of German battleships of the same name. She carried nine 28 cm guns in triple turrets and was deployed on operations in the Atlantic, including joint sorties with the Scharnhorst. Later she was heavily damaged and disarmed.
Clean and degrease the area of the deck before sticking anything on. The parts peel off their backing and are laid on from one edge, with the veneer pressed down gently so that no bubbles form. The thin veneer can be worked around the superstructure. Once it is on, it is a good idea to treat the deck with a matte clear varnish.
This is a separate accessory to a plastic model. The ship kit itself, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
