The 1:48 de Havilland Hornet F.1, F.3 and NF.21 masking set covers the cockpit framing of this twin-engine fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for painting a model in 1:48 scale; you will not find the aircraft itself in the box. The shapes respond to the canopy framing of the F.1, F.3 and night carrier NF.21 versions. The aim is a sharp boundary between the paint and the glass. The item does not contain paints or plastic parts.
The de Havilland Hornet was a twin-engine fighter of mixed construction with two Merlin engines turning in opposite directions, which removed the pull to one side. It was among the fastest piston machines of the Royal Air Force and served in Malaya as well. The naval Sea Hornet NF.21 also had a second seat for a radar operator and equipment for operating from a deck, so its glazing differs from the day versions. The mixed construction with a wooden skin kept the weight low and showed in the slender shape of the cockpit as well.
A twin-engine machine has a cockpit frame with little division, and all the more does every unevenness show. Before spraying, therefore, check that no speck of dust has been left anywhere. Work in good light and press the mask down from the center toward the edge. On the night version do not forget the different shape of the rear part of the canopy. Try the position of each shape dry; moving a mask repeatedly wears its edge.
