Responsibility details are not available.
Reskit offers the MHU-83 B/E munitions lift truck, known among crews by the nickname Jammer, as a 3D printed kit for experienced modelers. This set captures the early version with the lifting cradle in the lowered position, that is the state in which the truck stands ready to take a load from the ground. The other set of the same pair shows the raised position.
The lift truck was indispensable at a tactical airfield. The crew laid a bomb or a container on its cradle, the truck was driven under the pylon of the aircraft and the hydraulics lifted the load to a height at which it could be snapped into the lock. Without it heavy armament would not have got under the wing, and that is why this machine appears in period photographs beside practically every tactical type from the 1960s on.
First wash the printed parts in lukewarm soapy water, so that no print resin residue is left on the surface. Cut the supports off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest off, ideally wet and with respiratory protection. The joints are held by cyanoacrylate glue; ordinary glue for plastic does not work here. Before painting a primer in a thin layer pays off, as it will reveal any traces left by the printing.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; filler, paints and glue are not in the package.
