American jungle type combat boots in 1:72 scale, a small accessory for figures and for filling out a scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
American combat boots known as jungle boots were created for service in damp, hot conditions. Compared with an all-leather boot they have a lighter fabric upper, with leather left only at the points under strain, and drainage eyelets in the arch of the foot through which the water runs out. The typical look comes from the combination of dark leather and an olive green fabric section.
This is a small accessory for figures in 1:72 scale. At this scale a boot measures only a few millimeters, so the parts are very small and are handled with tweezers over a light surface so that they do not get lost. The parts list is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap before painting and let them dry, because a degreased surface holds the paint considerably better. Cut off the excess material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder with fine sandpaper. Secure the joints with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) applied in tiny drops on the tip of a toothpick. A brush is enough for the painting: first a darker base coat, then a lighter tone with a dry brush on the edges and finally a thin dark wash in the folds. Dusting the sole with a pigment in the shade of the terrain ties the figure to its base.
The set suits modelers who build figures and vignettes in 1:72 scale and want to give them footwear matching tropical service. Paints, glue and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
