MS-06F Zaku-II Principality Of Zeon Mass Productive Mobile Suit

What kind of model this is

A plastic kit of the MS-06F Zaku II mobile suit. It is a mass-produced machine of the armed forces of the Principality of Zeon from the world of Mobile Suit Gundam, that is a type which in the story is not one of the unique prototypes but forms the backbone of the units in the field. You will know it by the helmet-shaped head with a single movable camera and by the angular, strongly segmented armor.

What comes out of the kit

The model is supplied unassembled. The number of parts, the extent of the armament and the way the parts are joined are given in the instructions enclosed with the package, so go through the contents against them before building. The scale and the series designation are not stated here, which is worth bearing in mind if you are building the model into a group with other machines and want to keep the relative sizes right.

Building and painting tips

Separate the parts with sprue cutters a little away from the part and level the remaining nub with a sharp blade and fine sandpaper. Cutting right against the part leaves a white bruise on the edge, which then shows through the paint. Wash the surface in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap before painting and let it dry completely. The armor looks better with dark shading in the seams and a light accent on the edges in a lighter shade, because it is the edges and the recesses that give an angular shape depth. A machine of this kind also suits a mild dirtying of the lower areas, which matches its standing as everyday hardware in the field.

What is not in the box

Paints, varnishes, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
