A kit of the short-fuselage version of the next generation Boeing 737 in 1:72 scale, with a decal sheet for two liveries of the Scandinavian carrier: the newer and the older version of the company logo. In scope and in demands the model belongs among the harder pieces, not among weekend builds.
The 737-700 version stands at the beginning of the next generation family. Compared with its longer siblings it has a shortened fuselage and in the typical layout seats around one hundred and thirty passengers in two classes, while keeping a range suited even to longer European routes. The Scandinavian carrier is a long-standing operator of the type and its livery with the bold lettering on the fuselage is popular among collectors of airliners. It is precisely the clean civil scheme that makes the model a rewarding object for a display case.
The basis of success lies in an evenly smoothed fuselage and in the precise fit of the engine nacelles, which in this family have a characteristically flattened intake. Spray the white areas over a unified base, otherwise differences in the material will show through. Apply the large decals in sections, keep pressing the air out and let them dry well before you clear coat the area. Better to mask the cockpit glazing; a thin line for the frame does more work than a decal.
The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
