The Vampire J 28C in Swedish service is a kit of the two-seat jet trainer in 1:48 scale from the maker Pilot Replicas.
Responsibility details are not available.
A kit of the two-seat school version of the jet Vampire as the Swedish Air Force operated it under the designation J 28C. It was prepared by the Swedish maker Pilot Replicas, which concentrates precisely on Nordic types and on documenting them carefully. The 1:48 scale gives room for a well worked out cockpit.
Sweden introduced the Vampire shortly after the war and designated the single-seat versions J 28A and J 28B. The two-seat variant meant for converting pilots to jet hardware received the designation J 28C. The crew sat side by side in it under a common canopy, which made instruction easier, because the instructor saw exactly the same as the pupil. The basis stayed the same as on the single-seat machines: a pair of tail booms, a centrifugal-flow engine behind the cockpit and side air intakes. The training examples served long after the single-seat versions had disappeared from the front line.
The wide cockpit is the main place in view on the whole model, so it pays to devote time to the seats, the instrument panels and the belts. Before you close the fuselage up, try fitting the canopy dry. Smooth metal surfaces need a perfectly sanded base; any groove will be visible after spraying. Check the position of the tail booms against each other while it can still be adjusted.
The model is supplied in the form of parts to be assembled and painted. Paints and glue are not sold together with it.
